- Renovate and modernize data, voice and video communications information technology (IT) infrastructures for over 25,000 tenants
- Designed, renovated and equipped the new National Military Command Center, Unified Command Center and Resource Situational Awareness Center with current technologies to fight the Global War on Terror.
- Implementing a Voice-over-Internet Protocol system that is capable of supporting the subscriber demands of all Pentagon user communities.
- Rebuilt all IT infrastructure destroyed on 9/11 in less than one year from date of attack in connection with Project Phoenix.
- Designed and installed a new Pentagon Cable Infrastructure Network to process digital video content using IP-networks, the hybrid-fiber/coax (HFC) plant and DVB-ASI (Digital Video Broadcast – Asynchronous Serial Interface) transport.
The overarching objective of the IT renovation is to build and implement an enterprise information technology infrastructure in the Pentagon (one set of infrastructure supports the day-to-day operational requirements of all tenant Military Services and Defense Agencies). The Basement-Consolidated Server Room (B-CSR), a 3,000 square foot data center, serves as the foundation for storage of applications systems for the enterprise. Using this high-density blade server technology, the B-CSR has enough storage capacity to support the entire Pentagon and provides a homogenous server model for all tenants. Forty thousand square feet of extra space has already been returned to tenants as a result of Wedge 4 area organizations migrating to the B-CSR.
