Working closely with customers such as Department of Defense laboratories and major aerospace firms, we provide specialized technology management services. Our staff performs strategic planning, conducts special studies, operates major technical facilities and performs technical investigations for research and development (R&D). These services include:
- Advanced industrial practices
- Materials and coatings
- Test and evaluation using laser technology
- Nondestructive evaluation using infrared imaging
- Aerospace structures research
General Dynamics Information Technology also provides facilities engineering, design, management and operation of R&D laboratories, including the largest continuous wave gas laser in the U.S. We characterize materials performance and response in extreme environments using a variety of testing techniques. We provide key support to three winners of the Air Force Research Laboratory Director's Award: Manufacturing 2005, Lean Aircraft Iniative, Sustainment 2005.
Our services do not end with the completion of research. Our Technology Information Center performs technical transfer activities to inform military and commercial users of newly developed technologies. Our services facilitate beneficial relationships between government and industry by providing information, sources and technology transfer to existing and prospective customers.
