At GDIT, people are our differentiator. As a Configuration Manager supporting the customer, you will be trusted to provide configuration management activities that are consistent with commercial best practices for configuration management. In this role, a typical day will include:

  • Work closely with the program manager, staff management and service providers.
  • Elicit requirements from service providers and internal and external organizations.
  • Ensure the successful implementation and deployment of the infrastructure.
  • Specify the final infrastructure design incorporating lessons learned from previous infrastructure recapitalization efforts.
  • Support the technical project activities such as cost forecasting, schedule development, documentation development, and project
    approval boards.


  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of
    education, technical certifications or training, or work experience.
  • Minimum of 10 years related experience.
  • Technical Skills: Change and configuration management practices, Project Review Boards (PRBs) or other control boards, project
    management framework and facilitating the deployment if an application hosting infrastructure.
  • Security Clearance Level: Top Secret/SCI with Polygraph

Analyzes detailed business/functional/technical requirements and specifications for the application (and related application system components) as input to application design and coding.

Codes internally developed applications and/or configuring commercial-off-the-shelf (COTS) applications using programming, scripting, and database languages.

Supports application testing, deployment, maintenance, and evolution activities by correcting programming errors, responding to scope changes, and coding application enhancements.

Designs and establishes configuration management documentation.

Authorizes the release of drawings and changes specified by Program Management and other functional groups.

Acts as liaison between Program Management and other functional groups to resolve issues regarding configuration analysis documentation.

Provides advice and guidance on methods, procedures and requirements to individuals responsible for the creation of documentation.

Builds and develops application tables/panels/reports, and codes individual modules and complex functions for a client/server enterprise application.

Integrates software, develops external interfaces, maintains technical documentation.

Designs and develops most aspects of data conversion.

Collaborates with other departments to implement best practices for release tools and process and improve productivity.

Ensures the integrity of builds and artifacts to support successful production releases.

May provide guidance and work leadership to less-experienced analysts.

May serve as a mentor to less-experienced analysts.

May serve as team or task lead. (Not a people manager)

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS: BA/BS (or equivalent experience), 10+ years of experience
