General Dynamics Information Technology (GDIT) is currently seeking a Security Analyst in Rockville, Maryland to join our team supporting the Food and Drug Administration (FDA).  GDIT delivers cost-effective, next-generation IT solutions and services to the Federal Civilian / Health, Department of Defense, and intelligence community as they modernize their information systems. In this role you will be a change agent by:


  • Analyze the FDA security assessment list and create necessary security related requirements  
  • Work and communicate closely with Government security officers for the ATO process and documents
  • Complete all required documents that need to submit for ATO
  • Lead the security testing effort to make sure our applications comply with the FDA security requirements
  • Attend all security and ATO related meetings as a GDIT team representative
  • Work closely with a technical lead to discuss the security and ATO related matters and come up with security related improvements
  • Support the technical team to fix any security related issues
  • Have a complete ownership of FDA security related processes such as annual security assessment for ATO and monthly security vulnerability scanning


Required Skills and Experience:

  • Bachelors and 5+ years work experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Knowledge and experience with security standards and assessment process of an US federal government agency for IT systems
  • Experience of analyzing Federal IT systems to evaluate for the security compliance
  • Experience with writing reports of the security review and creating technical requirements to mitigate an issue

  • Proven strong analytical and problem skills
  • Ability to work independently to research issues
  • Ability to work with end users to troubleshoot production issues
  • Knowledge of JIRA, Service Now
  • Knowledge of Java programming language
  • Ability to learn a new application from the business and technology perspective
  • Data operations support


  • Exceptionally excellent verbal and writing skills
  • Able to communicate effectively across varied area including technology, business units and leadership
  • Ability to easily explain complicated security standards to the technical team to help to come up with necessary solutions     
  • Demonstrated flexibility in a new environment
