Job Description
GDIT has an exciting opportunity for a SQL Server DBA to support U.S. Army Europe as a member of our EMITS Program Team in Wiesbaden Germany.
SQL Server DBA will be responsible for the implementation, configuration, maintenance, and performance of critical SQL Server RDBMS, to ensure the availability and consistent performance. This is a “hands-on” position requiring solid technical skills, as well as excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
HOW A DATABASE ANALYST WILL MAKE AN IMPACT
Manage SQL Server databases through multiple product lifecycle environments, from development to mission-critical production systems.
Configure and maintain database servers and processes, including monitoring of system health and performance, to ensure high levels of performance, availability, and security.
Independently analyze, solve, and correct issues in real time, providing problem resolution end-to-end.
Refine and automate regular processes, track issues, and document changes
Perform scheduled maintenance and support release deployment activities after hours.
Share domain and technical expertise, providing technical mentorship and cross-training to other peers and team members.
WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED:
Secret Level Security Clearance
Candidate must possess DoD 8570 IAT Level II certification.
Candidate must obtain ITIL Foundation certification within 90 days of hire.
Candidate must be able to meet German TESA requirements
BA/BS, 5+ years’ experience preferred
MCSA or MCSE SQL Server certification preferred.
Certification in VMware architectures preferred.
German TESA Requirements
A bachelor’s degree plus 3 years of recent specialized experience; OR; An associate’s degree plus 7 years of recent specialized experience OR; A major certification plus 7 years of recent specialized experience, OR; 11 years of recent specialized experience.
