General Dynamics Information Technology (GDIT) is searching for a Sr. Technical Assistant to support the Naval Supply Systems Command (NAVSUP) Ordnance Information System (OIS)Program at Yorktown, VA.
*This position may be supported remotely but must be in the Yorktown, VA, area.
The OIS Program maintains a global presence of ordnance logistics experts to provide front line support and training to our Warfare Enterprise customers. GDIT supports OIS by enabling critical “real time” worldwide ordnance visibility.
This is a full time 40-hours/week that must cover Saturday and Sunday; the rest of the week is flexible scheduling. This is an excellent position for someone who wants/needs weekdays off!
Provides entry level to intermediate level support, monitoring, enhancements and troubleshooting of the OIS system in multiple security domains and site locations.
Work in the Information Systems (IS) department as a part of the IT Operations team that provides IT Operations Support, 24 x 7, 365 days a year, including Environment Schedule (Production/Test/Development/Continuity of Operations Plan (COOP)), Execution Reports, execution of jobs in applicable environments, Batch Processing (daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, yearly), and connectivity.
Troubleshooting / Resolving issues related to Operations, as required; may need to perform minor UNIX and SQL script editing or other technical procedures with assistance of System Administrators.
Schedule, Coordinate, Process and Monitor computerized batch processes / data exchanges / recurring jobs for two large ammunition systems (OIS-W and OIS-R) on UNIX O/S and Windows O/S. Post generated reports on a regular basis
Communicate issues, when they arise, with leadership
Prepare, operate, maintain and monitor, Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM) processing and Automated Cross Domain Solution (ACDS) jobs on UNIX platform.
Willing to look for ways to innovate and automate manual tasks.
Perform manual data transfers between unclassified and classified networks upon approval.
Maintain shift assignments.
Maintain all procedures, scripts and task sheets for all Operation changes, shift assignment, and logbooks for job runs
AAS degree; additional years of experience may be considered in lieu of degree
4+ years of progressive experience in the field of information processing, including three years of specialized experience.
Active Secret Clearance
Technical Knowledge and Skills:
Familiarity with Oracle Enterprise Manager and data processing/movement.
Knowledgeable/familiar with principals of performing complex tasks using standard and nonstandard Information Systems and techniques.
Experience as an applications programmer on large-scale IT systems and the ability to develop complex software to satisfy design objectives.
Experience in interpreting software requirements and design specifications to code, and integrating and testing software components.
Experience in Computer batch operations and technical support. Metrics and report development.
Some experience with SQL and Unix Scripting is desired.
Some Knowledge and understanding of Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) is preferred.
Knowledge of and/or exposure to Agile or Scrum methods is a plus.
