GDIT has an opening for a Systems Test Engineer position supporting the Army National Guard (ARNG) in Chantilly, VA. This is an IT Service Management contract in support of the operation, modernization, expansion, and further evolution of the ARNG’s global Information Technology (IT) services including networking, compute, storage, infrastructure, applications, hosting, and program management services.  The GECOS program supports the ARNG enterprise IT infrastructure, its Wide Area Network (WAN), authentication and directory services, cybersecurity, application hosting, and associated services. GECOS uses ITIL best practices framework as the basis for IT Service Management (ITSM) model.

The Systems Test Engineer will:

  • Performs various types of application testing such as manual, regression, and performance testing using our testing tools through comprehensive test scenarios.

  • Ensures all requirements, tests, and defects are up to date with regard to specific application needs. Develops test cases to ensure that software meets development, usability, functional, and security standards and additionally meets defined requirements for the software.

  • Performs quality assurance management, performance testing, unit testing, regression testing, load testing, automation testing, and user acceptance testing (UAT) as required.

  • Examines and documents all testing results and assists in identifying reasons for why actual results do not match expected testing results.

  • Analyzes how our software meets system, functional, and performance requirements.

  • Conducts/participates in peer reviews of test cases and test documents.

  • Creates dashboard reports and updates with automation test cases and test results.

  • Communicates and proactively resolves issues with engineers to determine where issues lie and how we can address them as a project team.

  • Conducts Test Readiness Review and Performance Testing to address user and performance issues before any changes are deployed into production.


Required Skills and Experience: 

  • A minimum of 5 years of relevant software and application testing support

  • Possess the appropriate baseline certifications to achieve DoD 8570.01-M Information Assurance Technical (IAT) Level II (CompTIA Security+ or higher)

  • An active Secret security clearance.
