Job Description
The Shipfitter:
- Uses Blueprints and Technical Drawings to properly position, maintain, assemble, or repair, a ship's main structural parts.
- Applies knowledge of machining, mathematics, metal properties and layout, and machine procedures.
- May set up welding equipment as needed for structural teams.
- Verifies dimensions and alignment of structural parts with measuring instruments.
- May perform testing of tanks, pipes, or compartments such as Hydro and Air Testing.
- Participates in special projects as needed.
Education Requirements:
High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent combination of education, technical training, or work experience
Technical or vocational training preferred
Experience requirements:
1-3 Years of related shipfitting experience.

Salary and Benefit Information
The likely hourly rate for this position is between $20.80 - $31.20, this is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary; rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
