Looking for a Linux Systems Administrator who can comfortably perform a variety of Linux administration duties. This position is a member of a team that is expanding the data transport line of business. Our customers have exciting missions in team-oriented environments where we are breaking new ground in solving the most difficult customer mission problems.

Key duties include maintaining operating systems (primarily Linux), application support, integration, design, and assistance as needed with additional duties to support the team. Some Windows System Administration expertise is preferable. Responsibilities include: Linux OS patching, file and server backups, maintaining group policies, booting servers, troubleshooting server issues, and managing print server installs, updates, and permissions. Responsible for the design, implementation, and operational aspects of multiple systems, operating environments and software. Schedule, plan and perform system upgrades.

Required and Preferred Skills and Qualifications:

Required

  • Experience loading and configuring Linux operating systems
  • Hands-on experience administering Linux servers and workstations
  • Demonstrated experience with VMWare administration
  • Implementation of Cloud Virtual Servers (i.e. MS Azure or AWS)
  • Experience setting up and configuring virtual cloud environments with Active Directory services
  • Experience configuring system backups on Linux or Unix operating systems
  • Experience automating Linux- or Unix-based maintenance tasks
  • Perform regular security monitoring of servers to identify any possible intrusions
  • Proficient with scripting Linux functions (e.g. Perl, BASH)
  • Proficient with shell scripting, creating cron jobs, analyzing log files, managing user accounts and groups
  • Expertise in the following technologies to include, but not limited to: CentOS, Ubuntu, JavaScript, Java, Python, HTML, SQL and other databases

Desired

  • Experience with Windows environments
  • Knowledgeable of IC system security requirements and approval process
  • Experience handling system security under Linux operating systems
