This person will serve as a lead specialist for the NAWCWD Innovation programs, responsible for assisting the NAWCWD Chief Innovation Officer (CInO) in implementing program planning, coordination and marketing. Innovation programs include the CoLaboratory (China Lake and Point Mugu), Innovation Challenge, NAWCWD IGNITES, ThinkSpace, and the NAWCWD Innovation Awards.
Keeps CInO informed and advised on issues that require immediate action.
Responds to questions or requests for information when CInO is unavailable.
Incumbent possesses ability to critically judge requests/tasking and is able to make sound judgements based on extraordinary urgency, priority or constraints and pass the information to the CInO, or act on behalf of CInO as instructed/required.
Innovation program specific duties include the following:
The CoLaboratory (CoLabs) - Coordinate procurement of supplies; capture stories of work taking place in the CoLabs; coordinate participation and activities for STEM events; update CoLabs Fusion page; develop marketing plan and materials.
Innovation Challenge - Coordinate Innovation Jam events; coordinate Story Telling training events; coordinate video production and scheduling; capture stories of completed Innovation Challenge projects; update Innovation Challenge Fusion page; develop marketing plan and materials.
NAWCWD IGNITES - Schedule monthly IGNITES panels; develop agenda for IGNITES panels; track progress of IGNITES projects in execution; capture stories of completed IGNITES projects; update NAWCWD IGNITES Fusion page; develop marketing plan and materials.
ThinkSpace- Coordinate Events; coordinate marketing plan and materials
NAWCWD Innovation Awards - Assemble nomination binder for Executive Director; coordinate awards ceremony (e.g. facilities, equipment, flyer, program, certificates, confirm participation of winners); submit select winners to NavalX awards program; develop marketing plan and materials.
In addition to the programs listed above the incumbent will provide support as needed for the execution of the annual NAWCWD Innovation Exhibition and participation in the Command Thank You, Holiday Open House and We Are NAWCWD events.
The ideal candidate will be thorough and detail oriented, be able to work independently and as part of the team, and possess good communication skills.
Proficient with MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
BA/BS (or equivalent experience), 5+ years of related work experience
Familiarity with Fusion and MS Access
