GDIT is helping the Department of Education run federal student financial aid systems that allow over 13 Million students to achieve their higher education goals each year. This Program Manager will lead efforts creating new solutions and migrating legacy systems to the cloud.

Responsibilities:

  • Managing a diverse program that includes multiple system development projects, technical operations of mission critical systems, internal business operations activities, and security compliance activities. 
  • Leading a program whose initial focus is migrating a mission critical application from the current mainframe environment to a Cloud hosted solution.
  • Building and managing an effective and efficient team focused on high quality delivery, financial performance, and client relationship development. 
  • Working with Federal Student Aid partners to successfully integrate systems for the overall success of the customer and our program.
  • Developing lasting relationships within Education and serving as a trusted advisor to customers. 
  • Developing staff and ensure ongoing performance as well as professional growth. 
  • Overseeing and continually improving delivery on program including support problem resolution. 
  • Achieving financial and growth targets
  • Building a culture throughout the team consistent with GDIT values around commitment, impact, integrity, imagination and agility

Qualifications:

  • 10+ years progressive experience in managing/leading IT services programs. 
  • Experience managing and growing federal programs
  • Experience migrating complex applications from mainframe environment to Cloud hosted environment
  • Preferred Project Management Professional Certification
  • Experience leading a program using Agile methodology
  • Experience leading programs with a DevSecOps approach
  • Direct experience with the Department of Education highly desired
  • Proficiency in building a business strategy that drives growth and execution
  • Leadership qualities that translate into business outcomes – specifically around team building and cohesion, client relationship development, and strategic thinking around enterprise business matters
  • Established hands-on experience managing programs of significance – both execution and financial focus
  • Ability and flexibility for travel within the US
  • Expertise in a variety of emerging and established technologies and the ability to speak to these technologies with customers or in presentations
  • Outstanding communication capabilities, both verbal and written.  Must have the ability to present in front of audiences of any size.
