The Sponsor group works with an international partner organization. The customer advises the partner and provides material support, such as communication and information technology equipment.
The work pace in the office varies but is often fast-paced. The office environment is collegial, team-oriented and task-focused. The group consists of two teams, with co-located officers, who include translators and officers from various Sponsor Directorates with a variety of backgrounds.
This position is transactional, though the contractor will have enough autonomy to notify the customer of issues that need to be resolved, such as discrepancies in the ordering and receiving of goods and material. The contractor will respond to sponsor requests for logistical support, such as: (1) purchasing materials and services when ordered by the customer; (2) coordinating the transportation of goods and materials; and (3) maintaining inventories of goods and materials. The contractor will use the approved procurement, shipping, and property disposal Sponsor Programs/Systems.
The Logistics Generalist must possess good verbal and written communication skills in order to interact with various components of the Sponsor, both in WMA and in the field, but the contractor will not need to give briefings or presentations. The contractor will work 8 hours per day, 40 hours per week, for a total of 1,860 hours for the year.
