Job Description

Ensure the safety and security of our nation as a Lead Engineer at GDIT. You’ll apply the latest technology and provide operational support to deliver actionable intelligence for the Intelligence Community. Here, your work will have meaning and impact as you deliver your best every day.

HOW A LEAD ENGINEER WILL MAKE AN IMPACT:

  • Uses expert knowledge to develop and apply advanced methods, theories and research techniques in the investigation and solution of complex and advanced software applications and problems.
  • Advises less experienced employees on developing highly complex documentation, flowcharts, layouts, diagrams, charts, code comments and clear code.
  • Uses expert knowledge in the preparation and installation of solutions by determining and designing system specifications, standards, and programming.
  • Performs highly complex systems modeling, simulation, and analysis. Designs and develop basic compilers, assemblers, utility programs and operating systems.
  • Leads the development of software solutions by studying information needs; conferring with users; studying systems flow, data usage, and work processes; investigating problem areas; and following the software development lifecycle.
  • Establishes operational plans
  • Uses specialized knowledge to develop highly detailed documentation for new or existing programs
  • Applies practical knowledge of job typically obtained through advanced education and work experience
  • May coach and provide guidance to less-experienced professionals
  • May serve as a team or task lead
  • Recognized as a Subject Matter Expert in software engineering.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED:

  • CLEARANCE: TS/SCI with Poly
  • EDUCATION: BA/BS or equivalent
  • EXPERIENCE: 20 years required
