Our work depends on a Cerner EHR Interface Analyst joining our team to support A Federal EHR Modernization program activities. This a remoted-based role.  Candidate must live in the U.S.

At GDIT, we put our people first. As a Cerner EHR Interface Analyst supporting the Federal initiative, you will be in a prominent role on an Electronic Health Record (EHR) modernization program, which includes requirements determination, integration/interoperability (Healthcare Information Technology Standards Panel [HITSP]), health information management compliance, providing mission critical support to our customer. In this role, during a typical day you will:

  • Design interoperability and integration for interfaces and devices between the Cerner EHR platform and ancillary systems, providers, public health agencies, payers, other federal agencies, and patients using exchange standards (e.g. HL7, FHIR, IHE), specifications and integration platforms.
  • Provide development, configuration, customization of standards-based APIs needed for health information exchange with the Cerner EHR platform.
  • Work alongside IHS and its data partners to analyze key laboratory, radiology, immunization, disease surveillance, medical device integration and financial/revenue cycle information for conformance to data specifications and implementation guides.
  • Facilitate detailed HL7 v2, HL7 CCD/CDA and FHIR interface mapping discussions with clients.
  • Assess and develop testing, and integration use case scenarios.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent HIT (Healthcare Information Technology) deployment (Cerner or equivalent EHR platforms) analyst work experience
  • 2+ years of healthcare interface development
  • Design and development experience with HL7 FHIR, HL7 CDA/CCDA, HL7 v2, and other Health Data exchange, especially around clinical, financial, operational/administrative areas
  • Experience working with large complex integrated delivery network deployment of an EHR such as Cerner or equivalent EHR platforms.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, technical certifications or training, or healthcare work experience.
  • Ability to work at the Enterprise level, working and coordinating efforts across numerous resources, sub-contractors and stakeholders.
  • The successful candidate must be able to obtain a Public Trust Security Clearance.
  • Ability to travel

SECURITY CLEARANCE LEVEL:

  • Work visa sponsorship will not be provided for this position.  / Must be able to obtain a Public Trust Level 5 clearance.

Preferred:

  • Experience working on large Federal healthcare projects is highly desired.
  • Experience with hospital based clinical, financial and administrative data.
  • Experience with configuring and troubleshooting high volume HL7 data interfaces including ADT, Lab, Pharmacy, Radiology and other clinical/financial/administrative functions.
  • Experience working with industry leading HL7 interface engines.
  • Experience working with Cerner CareAware device interoperability platform.
  • Experience with health information exchange (HIE) platforms.
  • Experience with hospital based clinical, financial and administrative data and ancillary systems such as Pharmacy, Radiology & Laboratory Information Systems
  • Familiarity with acute and ambulatory settings
  • Understanding of Telehealth technology
  • Experience with facilitating and leading detailed interoperability implementation discussions with clients.
  • HITSP experience with an understanding of LOINC, HL7, HL7 FHIR, SNOMED, RxNorm as well as DICOM standards – Open standards in Healthcare Information Technology (HIT)
  • Knowledge of HITSP, FHIR, DICOM, open standards and standard coded terminologies (LOINC, SNOMED, RxNorm, NCPDP, etc) or terminology services.
  • Excellent communication, organization, and analytical skills.
  • Ability to multi-task and handle changing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Knowledge of the Indian Health Service and/or Department of Veterans Affairs environments.

Salary and Benefit Information

The likely salary range for this position is $69,722 - $116,438, this is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary; rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
