GDIT is seeking a Systems Technician to support systems integration, operation, and maintenance of cloud-based and on-premise data warehouse systems. This position will be full time hours but likely only seasonal/short term (estimated 3 months).

On a typical day, successful candidates will:

  • Assist in a variety of IT research, development, and operations tasks; under the direction of senior team members.

  • Operate in cloud and on-premise hosting environments using a wide variety of data processing and workload management services and software.

  • Work on independently or in collaboration with other team members to analyze customer requirements, monitor system resource utilization, automate processes, maintain existing solutions, and/or evaluate and recommend new solutions.

  • Learn new skills, apply programming, troubleshooting, and problems solving skills.

Required Qualifications

  • Must have HS diploma or GED.

  • Must be Amazon Web Services Certified (Practitioner or higher)

  • Must have at least 3 months of directly relevant work experience as part of an internship program or equivalent work experience as a federal contractor.

  • Must have prior work experience with Amazon Web Services and Microsoft Azure.

  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

  • Must be comfortable working in both Windows and Linux environments.

  • Must have basic proficiency in one or more programming languages (e.g., Python, Scala, Java).

Desired Qualifications:

  • Highly motivated, detail-oriented, and possess strong communications skills.

  • Currently enrolled in 4-year degree program in computer science, information technology, or a related discipline at an accredited college or university.

  • Familiar with cloud tools and services (e.g., Security Hub, Cloudwatch, AWS Inspector, CloudTamer, JFrog, New Relic and Splunk).

COVID-19 Vaccination Requirement: To protect the health and safety of its employees and to comply with customer requirements, GDIT may require employees in certain positions to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19. Vaccination requirements will depend on the status of the federal contractor mandate and customer site requirements.

The likely hourly rate for this position is between $22.40 - $33.60, this is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary; rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
