Web Developer

At GDIT, people are our differentiator. As a Web Developer supporting the customer, you will be trusted to build web applications for publication according to their established practices and editorial standards. The developer will work as part of small teams comprised of graphic designers, cartographers and other developers with team sizes and mixes varying as needed. The developers may also be assigned to more than one project at as time with various timelines for completion. The developer is expected to be well versed in a Java Script Application Framework such as Angular6+, Typescript, JavaScript, HTML, CSS and may be required to use various JavaScript libraries like D3, ChartJS or Highcharts to display data. In this role, a typical day will include:

  • Fast-paced, deadline-driven team environment.
  • Work on intelligence interactive applications.
  • Web application development.
  • Meet firm deadlines.
  • Work on simple or complex custom websites.


  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, technical certifications or training, or work experience.
  • Minimum of 15 years related experience.
  • Technical Skills: Angular6+ or View or React, JavaScript, HTML, CSS, JSON, CSV
  • Security Clearance Level: Top Secret/SCI with Polygraph
  • Desired Qualifications: Git, Angular9+, Typescript, D3, ChartJS, Highcharts, experience with a programming language e.g. Java, Python, Perl etc., Mobile development experience, additional JavaScript Application Framework or JavaScript libraries

Provides highly advanced guidance and collaboration to create innovative solutions for the development of web applications and websites.

Utilizes expert knowledge to the testing and finalization of web applications and website for next level production.

Provides innovative solutions for highly complex website updates ensuring changes are implemented without disruption.

Provides innovative solutions for highly complex contingency plans in preparation of website outages.

Stays current with relevant trends and knowledge to provide highly advanced guidance on emerging programming that will have optimal effects on the web applications and websites overall functionality.

Provides expert guidance to less-experienced web developer personnel.

May serve as a task or project leader. (Not a people manager)

May consult with executives and customers to deliver complex web development solutions.

Recognized as a subject matter expert in a specific technology.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS: BA/BS (or equivalent experience), 15+ years of experience
