As a Computer Engineer supporting the customer, you will be trusted to demonstrate superb technical competency, delivering mission-critical infrastructure and ensuring the highest levels of availability, performance and security. In this role, a typical day will include:

  • Troubleshoot system software for errors and resolve or mitigate identified risks.
  • Develop scripts to automate software deployments and system administration tasks.
  • Develop and review system architecture designs, flow diagrams, SSPs, test plans, CONOPS, and user guides.
  • Review policies to ensure systems are in compliance with industry best practices and government standards.
  • Perform data migrations between systems.
  • Identify roadblocks in an agile Software or System Development Lifecycle (SDLC).


  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, technical certifications or training, or work experience.
  • Minimum of 10 years related experience.
  • Technical Skills: Experience with Windows System Administration to include, Windows Server 2012 R2 or later; Windows 10
  • Experience with Hyper-V, Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, WSUS, Group policy, Windows Deployment Server
  • Experience with Microsoft SQL Server or later
  • Scripting: Powershell, Bash, YAML, XML, BitLocker
  • Experience with network administration: Firewall, routers, or switches
  • Experience with backup and antivirus deployments: McAfee ePolicy Orchestrator or equivalent. Also, System Center Data Protection Manager or equivalent.
  • Experience with auditing and conducting vulnerability scans on systems.
  • Security Clearance Level: Top Secret/SCI with Polygraph


  • Experience with DevOps tools such as Confluence,Docker, Kubernetes, Jira, Jenkins, Selenium, Git, SonarQube, Elasticsearch, Anisible, Chef, Cloudformation, Puppet
  • Cloud experience, preferably in AWS. Other: Azure or Google
  • Experience with Linux system administration. Operating Systems: RedHat or CentOS

CERTIFICATIONS: Achieved one or more of the following IT certifications:

  • Cloud certifications: AWS, Azure, Google, Cloud+
    PS certifications: RedHat, Microsoft
    IAT Level II or III certifications: CCNA Security, CySA+, Security+CE, CND, SSCP, CASP+CE, CCNP Security, CISA
    IAM Level 1 or II certifications: CAP, CND, Cloud+, Security+CE, CISSP, CISM, CCISO

Guides the successful completion of major engineering programs and may function in a project leadership role.

Develops advanced solutions to highly complex engineering problems which require the regular use of ingenuity and creativity.

Performs advanced systems design, development, and integration from the start of a systems life cycle to the end.

Provides and applies advanced engineering to highly complex infrastructures including installing, configuring, testing and maintaining operating systems, application software, and system management tools.

Provides and applies advanced engineering skills to highly complex systems modeling, simulation, and analysis.

Performs continual maintenance and provides advanced solutions for continual and highly complex security, backup and redundancy problems.

Prepares and maintains all documentation for processes and procedures related to engineering projects.

Provides guidance to less-experienced Systems Engineers.

Maintains current knowledge of rapidly changing technology, always on the lookout for new technologies, and works with management to evolve current processes.

May coach and review the work of less-experienced professionals.

May serve as a team or task leader. (Not a people manager)

Performs complex systems development and design work that may include logic design, I/O design, model formulation, computer architecture analysis and design, and digital systems engineering.

Invents innovative ways to drive production operational efficiency.

Drives scalability and operability of supported systems/infrastructure.

Implements, manages and enhances Continuous Integration and Delivery (CI/CD) pipeline tools.

Creates, maintains, and reviews Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Desired State Configuration (DSC) and/or Puppet configuration management tools to support the provisioning infrastructure.

Provides system/equipment/specialized training and technical guidance.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS: BA/BS (or equivalent experience), 10+ years of experience
