Our client’s vision is to be the central epidemiological resource and a global health surveillance proponent for the U.S. Armed Forces. The Armed Forces Health Surveillance Branch (AFHSB)provides timely, relevant, actionable, and comprehensive health surveillance information in order to promote, maintain, and enhance the health of military and military-associated populations. We are seeking a Program Scientist to aid in that mission. General Duties: - Assist in supporting an effective AFHSB biosurveillance program and operational mission. - Effectively liaise with AFHSB internally and with external USG and non-USG partner leading to the successful establishment of collaborations and/or partnerships. - Assist in meeting information requirements of Combatant Commands (CCMDs) and other military and civilian programs and projects. - Coordinate the gathering and assembly of data related to specific projects and perform detailed scientific analysis. - Support collaborations across the AFHSB to develop and enhance AFHSB biosurveillance information products integrating data and information from various sources. - Prepare and present formal and informal presentations to military, other government and civilian publications, and provide mentoring and informal and formal teaching to the staff.- Bachelors Degree in a scientific discipline. - Master degree in Epidemiology, Public Health or closely related field preferred.- 2-5 years of related experience in scientific research and analysis - Excellent ability to conduct statistical analyses - Infectious disease experience is preferred - Minimum of two years of public health experience - Secret level national security clearance with ability to obtain Top Secret - Excellent communication skills - Organizational skills For more than 50 years, General Dynamics Information Technology has served as a trusted provider of information technology, systems engineering, training and professional services to customers across federal, state, and local governments, and in the commercial sector.
