Job Description

GDIT is seeking a Cyber Exercise Program Strategic Planner to join our team in supporting CISA’s National Cyber Exercise Program. 

 

Support the National Cybersecurity Exercise Program (NCEP) efforts to enhance the security and resilience of the nation's critical infrastructure.  This expanding program is part of the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) Exercises sub-division responsible for developing, designing, conducting, and analyzing exercises and workshops at the state, federal, regional, private sector, and international level. This position will directly support the NCEP Branch Chief in developing the strategic plan for this growing program.  

Contract requires US Citizenship and secret clearance.

HOW AN EXERCISE PLANNER WILL MAKE AN IMPACT

  • Support federal client in the development, maintenance, and delivery of NCEP Strategy and Plans 
  • Conduct complex analysis, evaluations, and investigations to understand organizational programs, systems, and processes. 

  • Review, advise on, and conducts complex analyses, evaluations, or investigations in support of organizational programs, systems, and processes, including areas where definitions, methods, and/or data are incomplete, controversial, or uncertain, or where boundaries of the studies are extremely broad and difficult to determine in advance. 

  • Provide expert analysis and advice on complex program issues based on current operations and changing program requirements. 

  • Support NCEP with planning and executing cyber exercises according to the DHS Homeland Security Exercise and Evaluation Program (HSEEP) principles. This may include identifying objectives, developing scenarios, designing exercise construct, supporting the exercise conduct, and after-action report development.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED:

  • Proven experience in organization operational planning and strategy development. 
  • Organizational and leadership skills. 

  • Excellent communication skills are essential for this position as products will be used for a wide range of audiences through the agency, the department, and the federal government. 

  • Experience with exercise development, design, conduct, and analysis. 

  • Analytical mind with problem-solving aptitude. 

  • Familiarity with Homeland Security Exercise and Evaluation Program (HSEEP) Doctrine and its application. 

  • Expertise with Microsoft Office 365 applications; particularly Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint 

  • Attention to detail 

  • Customer service orientation, focus, and ability to multitask 

  • Strong and demonstratable teamwork abilities 

  • Flexible, self-motivated, and able to adapt to changing circumstances

Salary and Benefit Information

The likely salary range for this position is $120,000 - $180,000, this is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary; rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
