Job Description

Join General Dynamic Information Technology’s (GDIT’s) Defense Division to provide Enterprise Architecture services for an exciting new contract.  As an Enterprise Architect you will be responsible for designing, documenting, implementing, and maintaining enterprise IT capabilities to include hybrid cloud services for our DOD customers.  Successful candidates must have a strong understanding of DOD cloud governance, including CC-SRG, SCCA, CAP architectures, required to implement IL5/IL6 cloud services for DOD customers.

Candidate will be responsible for the long-term strategic planning of IT systems to improve functionality and efficiency. Provide guidance on integration and synchronization of disparate technologies to improve cost and increase productivity. Develop policies, standards and guidelines that direct the selection/development, implementation and use of technologies. Collaborate with other IT stakeholders to provide an architecture solution that is reliable, adaptable and scalable. Address risks associated with IT assets through the development, use and recommendation of appropriate standards and security policies. Analyze technology trends relating to security, infrastructure, and development, and provide technical vision. Collaborate with senior level technical staff to integrate project requirements while complying with industry’s standard practices and SOA methodologies. Document and present SOA methodologies, other architectural principles and technical solutions to senior staff and IT stakeholders.


  • Masters/PhD in Computer Science or related field and 8+ years of System Architecture experience and at least 3 years of Cloud Engineering / Architecture experience; additional experience / certifications may be considered in place of education

  • Expertise in developing, maintaining and contributing to technical and process documentation

  • Expertise with Microsoft Azure and AWS services

  • Expertise with Office 365 management and configuration (Exchange, OneDrive, SharePoint, Office Suite, AzureAD)

  • Expertise in DoD Cloud Computing Security Requirements Guide (CC-SRG) and SCCA Architectures including Cloud Access Point (CAP) architectures

  • Expertise with Enterprise Architecture Frameworks such as TOGAF / DODAF

  • Ability to thrive in a highly collaborative, fast-paced, growth-focused environment

  • Industry recognized cloud engineering/architecture or security certification(s)

  • CompTIA Security+ or similar for IAT Level II DoD 8570 certification

  • Active DoD Top Secret clearance and SCI eligibility

  • Able to travel 5-10% to VA/MD/DC area

Additional Desired Skills or Experience

  • Expertise in cloud service delivery models

  • Senior Microsoft Azure Certifications
