HOW BEING A SYSTEMS ENGINEER CAN MAKE AN IMPACT?

The Sponsor operates as a frontline resource, protecting its parent organization equities from internal and external security threats. The Sponsor supports a diverse set of corporate goals across the organization by conducting technical risk assessments and providing technical risk mitigation guidance on the use of various enabling technologies supporting the broader organization’s enterprise and operational activities. These technologies range from commercial to customized IT-based products and solutions, to include endpoint devices, applications, networked systems and supporting infrastructures, and system architectures. The Sponsor requires support specializing in technical risk analysis of enterprise and operational mission systems, networks, devices, and applications. across a myriad of Sponsor’s initiatives.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, technical certifications or training, or work experience.

Required Experience:

  • Demonstrated experience performing computer forensics and security analysis including the use of commercial or specialty forensic tools such as EnCase, FTK, X-Ways, Magnet IEF, or BlackLight.
  • Demonstrated experience understanding system kernel level processing to detect and report on significant kernel events such as root kits, hooked functions, call tables, and data structures.
  • Demonstrate experience with data extraction from various data sources including files, directories, and custom databases.
  • Demonstrated experience detecting suspicious data types, COVCOM tools, modified software and other malicious content using data identification, reduction, and analysis.
  • Demonstrated experience using various types of electronic media such as SSD/HDD, Thumb Drives, Volatile Memory, or Compact Disks.
  • Demonstrated experience understanding network vulnerabilities, analysis and penetration testing using both open-source and commercial tools, such as Nmap, Wireshark, Metasploit, Canvas, Kismet, or BackTrack.
  • Demonstrated experience with multiple OS’s, including Windows, Linux, and OSX.
  • Demonstrated experience performing technical risk assessments and providing technical risk mitigation guidance.
  • Demonstrated experience ensuring appropriate risk mitigation considerations are baked in early in the project development cycle, and risks and vulnerabilities are well understood and appropriately mitigated.
  • Demonstrated experience analyzing procurement processes of hardware, software and services to comply with cyber security and operational needs.
  • Demonstrated experience creating concise and well-structured written assessments of projects describing the potential security concerns and recommended mitigations to enhance the security posture of the project.

  • Security Clearance Level: Top Secret/SCI with Polygraph

  • Preferred Skills:
  • Demonstrated experience with IT system security.
  • Demonstrated experience with Microsoft Windows 7, 8, 10, 2008R2, 2012, 2012R2, 2016.
  • Demonstrated experience with hypervisors such as HyperV, VMWare ESX, and Virtual Box.
  • Demonstrated experience with network design (LAN & WAN), including backup systems and disaster recovery architectures (DR).
  • Demonstrated experience providing recommendations in technical standards, security standards, and operational assurance.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, technical certifications or training, or work experience.
