GDIT is looking for an ETL Developer in Washington (D.C.) to join our team supporting the USPS.
The candidate will plan, manage, execute, and oversee varied data integration and data management enhancements, customizations, migrations within the AWS environment. Gather information with the customer to determine project parameters and specifications. Candidate will work collaboratively with stakeholders to provide technical oversight with respect to data integration. The candidate will perform extraction transformation loading (ETL) using Penthaho.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Develop and maintain Extract, Transform, and Load functions from Epic and other operational data sources into their respective target environments
Performance monitoring to ensure timely and quality delivery of data into AWS data storage environment such as S3
Serve as a data management subject matter expert focused on modeling and designing data integrations, transformations, and migrations from various sources
Validate that data standards are implemented across several interfaces with other applications
Design data integration and management software to automated imports, exports or transfers of data to one or more other systems using approved USCB ETL tools (e.g., Pentaho Data Integration 7.x)
Work with data owners to document data mappings and transformations to support effective downstream analytics and alerts
Make recommendations and advise on data refresh, optimization of data, data storage, and data integration among two or more systems
Collaborate with team to manage risk as it pertains to data, software, lifecycle management, software development methodologies, and data modeling
Develop test data as necessary to support testing.
Attend various meetings as subject matter expert for ETL
This program only accepts US citizens and/or Green Card Holders. The security clearance for this program requires the selected candidate to have resided in the US for the past five years. The selected candidate cannot have left the country for longer than 90 consecutive days and no more than 180 cumulative days.
Bachelor's Degree in a Computer Science or related technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, technical certifications or training, or work experience.
5 years of related software development experience.
Demonstrated experience in JAVA/J2EE development doing ETL work.
Demonstrated experience with Spring and Hibernate or REST services.
Experience with a data transformation tool such a Pentaho.
Demonstrated experience working with and transforming XML, JSON, or CSV.
Demonstrated experiencing working with and or authoring XML Schemas.
Familiarity with AWS data storage environment such as S3.
Experience with code delivery mechanisms and code repositories (e.g. Subversion and/or Git).
Experience with continuous delivery solutions, such as Hudson, Jenkins, or Puppet
Experience in developing and maintaining applications in the Sponsor's environment and associated security processes.
Experience developing in an Agile environment, including Scrum and user stories.
Demonstrated experience developing and operating enterprise scale, web-based applications in the IC/DoD environments.
Demonstrated experience working in a cross security domains environment.
Demonstrated experience participating in Agile development teams.
Familiarity with NoSQL environment and technologies.
