Job Description

The DevOps Engineer should possess proficient communication skills to lead and implement various concepts like scalability, automation, and security and compliance monitoring across enterprise cloud environments hosted within AWS or Microsoft Azure. You need to have technical proficiencies and familiarity in DevOps culture with a keen interest in cybersecurity and up-to-date knowledge of threats and trends. 

DevSecOps are responsible for software development, recognizing the security threats, and configuring the network and cloud infrastructure, so the DevSecOps engineer should have up-to-the-minute details of cybersecurity threats and the latest software. You should also possess knowledge of the implementation of risk assessment techniques and the latest security best practices. 

It is the responsibility of the DevOps Engineer to come up with customized solutions for security purposes in DevOps.  You should be well-versed in at least one of the programming or scripting languages like PowerShell, Bash, Java, PHP, Python, Ruby, or Perl so as to collaborate competently with other teams within the organization regarding security and compliance monitoring. The DevOps Engineer must possess knowledge of microservices such as AWS EKS, Docker, or Kubernetes, and experience using CI/CD tools such as Terraform, Ansible, Chef, Puppet, Maven, Bitbucket, Git, AWS CodeCommit, and/or AWS CloudFormation.

  • Agile software development, DevOps best practices, CI/CD pipeline experience
  • 10+ years development or cloud operations experience working with cross functional teams
  • 5+ years contributing to or leading DevOps or DevSecOps projects and/or Kubernetes deployments
  • Solid understanding of containers and container security with hands on experience with AWS or Azure container services, Docker, and/or Kubernetes.
  • Experience with one or more of the following programming/scripting languages: Python, Ruby, PowerShell, Bash, Java, PHP, Perl and using them to deliver automated solutions through CI/CD pipelines.
  • Must be able to obtain agency specific Public Trust.

Minimum Education/Experience

A bachelor’s degree specializing in Business, Engineering, Mathematics, Information Systems, or Computer Science plus 10 years of relevant experience required.

Demonstrated DevSecOps experience in designing and deploying enterprise level cloud environments, compliant with NIST 800-53 or other security standards.  Expertise in DevOps deployments within AWS or Azure cloud architectures, services, and/or environments to include automating Infrastructure as Code (IaC).

The likely salary range for this position is $134,400 - $201,600, this is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary; rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
