GDIT has an exciting opportunity available for a Logistician Analyst at Fort Wainwright, Alaska. This position requires someone with a current and active Secret clearance.
The Logistician Analyst is in support of United States Army Pacific (USARPAC) TR Rooms logistics requirements through the analysis, organization, planning, and administration of various phases of day-to-day provisioning, spares, maintenance, and/or repair activities. Performs functions such as material procurement, production planning, inventory control, inventory reductions, cost savings, vendor selection and distribution. Creates integrated processes among internal functions and outside suppliers. Pack, wrap and shipping of Government Furnished Property and Equipment.
Operates within all established Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Job Safety Analysis (JSA), and Occupational Safety & Health Administration (OSHA).
Use Global Combat Support System – Army (GCSS-Army) to enter, update and maintain maintenance records.
Research equipment availability vendors, prepare purchase request/purchase orders.
Coordinate purchases with JBLM RSC
Shipping and receiving frequent lifting of materials and products up to 50 pounds.
Establish and maintain stock records and other documents such as inventory, material control, accounting and supply reports.
Review and verify quantities received against bills of contracts, purchase requests and shipping documents.
Contributes and may provide guidance to the completion of significant logistics projects.
Unload, unpack, count, segregate, palletize and store incoming supplies and equipment.
Construct bins, shelving and other storage aids.
Simplify and standardize the collection and use of maintenance data.
Raise the quality and accuracy of performance, cost and parts data through improved maintenance management.
Verifies and keeps automated and manual records on incoming/outgoing shipments and prepares items for shipment.
Performs preventive maintenance and machinery operation of forklift requiring the use of safety equipment to include but not limited to eye safety glasses, hearing protectors, work boots, and hardhats.
Determines method of shipment, utilizing knowledge of shipping procedures, routes, and rates. Affixes shipping labels on packed cartons or stencils identifying shipping information on cartons, using stenciling equipment. Assembles wooden or cardboard containers or selects preassembled.
Acquires and maintains Hazardous Material Shipping and Fork Lift Operation certifications.
BA/BS (or equivalent experience), 5+ years of experience
Must have a current and Active Secret clearance
Use Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel)
