Will the employee manage and be responsible for the successful completion of all tasks in assigned program area with annual revenues of $10M and above

Our work depends on a Program Manager joining our team to support our federal Health & Science client activities in Bethesda, MD.   

At GDIT, people are our differentiator. As a Program Manager supporting our Federal Health Division, you will work on cutting-edge programs and our client’s mission to enhance health, lengthen life, and reduce illness and disability.  In this role, a typical day will include:

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Oversee financial, personnel, cost, and technical performance for the project;
  • Responsible for managing client expectations and leveraging existing client relationships to develop additional business opportunities;
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients and ensure daily, weekly, and monthly status reports are completed with accurate information;
  • Manage electronic copies of project management plans and templates in Microsoft Office Project and PDFs;
  • Document activities in EPLC framework as required for HHS/NHLBI;
  • Utilize standard project artifacts, schedules, risks, status dashboards, labor hours and other required documents as directed;
  • Responsible for full project status reporting, creating and submitting weekly project status of non-recurring project tasks;
  • Meet with Government stakeholders to review project status as requested;
  • Document all projects in process to provide government leads high level overview of projects that may impact each other- Review project plan, risk plan, QA plan, requirements management process and configuration management process for project as requested;
  • Execute project plan as authorized;
  • Document and manage all modifications;
  • Determine Level of Effort (LOE) for service/solution requests;
  • Produce weekly, monthly and quarterly status reports;
  • Develop project management plans; and
  • Develop project schedules using MS Project.

WHAT YOU'LL NEED:

  • BS/BA or equivalent and eight years of experience or a MS and three years of experience;
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification;
  • Agile certification;
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience managing IT projects according to PMI or standards;
  • Experience managing website or application development projects or teams;
  • Must possess or be able to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience applying traditional project management approaches to scientific projects;
  • Experience with Agile and SAFe practices
  • Experience with Project Online;
  • Experience liaising with stakeholders in senior management regarding IT needs and requirements;
  • Drupal experience;
  • Ability to produce PowerPoint presentations.

ADDITIONAL SKILLS:

  • Experience managing and executing projects,
  • Proficient in Microsoft Project and scheduling best practices,
  • Proficiency in other Microsoft Office applications (i.e., Word, PowerPoint, Excel, SharePoint),
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to translate complex project management theories into easy-to-understand guidance,
  • Comfort in interacting with federal senior leadership and scientists,
  • Desire to collaborate in a team environment and provide excellent customer service to clients, and
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

CLEARANCE

  • Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a federal Public Trust security clearance, and
  • U.S, citizenship is required.
