At GDIT, people are our differentiator. As a Cyber Security Analyst supporting Department of Education PIVOT-I program, you will be trusted to work on IDS monitoring and analysis, network traffic and log analysis, insider threat and APT detection, and malware analysis. This role will be in Bossier City, LA.
In this role, a typical day will include the responsibilities below:
Evaluates, tests, recommends, coordinates, monitors and maintains cybersecurity policies, procedures and systems, including infrastructure and access management for cybersecurity hardware, firmware and software
Ensures that cybersecurity plans, controls, processes, standards, policies and procedures are aligned with cybersecurity standards
Identifies security risks and exposures, determines the causes of security violations and suggests procedures to halt future incidents and improve security.
Develops techniques and procedures for conducting cybersecurity risk assessments and compliance audits, the evaluation and testing of hardware, firmware and software for possible impact on system security, and the investigation and resolution of security incidents such as intrusion, frauds, attacks or leaks.
Carries out triage on security events, coordinates incidents with Incident Management Team, IT operations, network engineering, and application teams
Diagnoses, identifies, isolates, and analyzes problems utilizing historical database records.
Participates in the security engineering, validation testing of system configuration/hardening, and assessment of classified information systems (IS).
Supports security posture assessments.
Maintains awareness of cyber trends, threats, and vulnerabilities.
Develops, integrates and maintains security toolsets.
Alerts management to recurring problems and patterns of problems.
BA/BS (or equivalent years of experience) and 2+ years of relevant experience
Experience working with Tenable and NESSUS scanners
US Citizenship per contract requirement
Public Trust or the ability to obtain
Security + certification or equivalent (or ability to obtain within 90 days of employment)
ITILv4 Foundation within 30 days of employment
Linux, Windows, and Active Directory experience
Palo Alto experience
Cloud security experience
SIEM experience; Splunk preferred
Malware/Anti-virus solution experience; McAfee, Symantec, Carbon Black
ForeScout CounterAct experience
Big Fix experience
