GDIT has an exciting opportunity available for a Generator Mechanical Engineer performing sustainment maintenance to include engine overhauls on tactical generators in Kuwait. Successful applicant must have a current and active U.S. Government issued SECRET clearance.
Mechanical Engineer Responsibilities:
Performs sustainment maintenance on 2-kW to 150-kW generators involving installation and removal of generators from fixed and mobile locations, troubleshoots and rebuilds engines, alternate current (AC) systems, direct current (DC) systems, electronic control systems and other program logic controls, electrical wiring and accessories.
Responsible for maintaining tactical power generation equipment; advanced medium mobile power sources and tactical quiet generators.
Rebuild and repair generator engines, head gaskets, seals, water pumps, fuel pumps, torque heads, belts and hoses.
Test batteries, fuel and coolant.
Knowledgeable of generator parallel systems
Identifying maintenance risks on equipment.
Ensuring compliance with appliance standards and with Occupational Health and Safety Act
Complying with service standards, work instructions and customers' requirements.
Experienced using multi-meters and other necessary tools for troubleshooting.
- BA/BS plus 5 years' experience , AA/AS plus 7 years' experience, or High School diploma and 9 years of experience
- US Army Tactical Power Generation Course 91D or related training
- Must have a current and active U.S. Government SECRET clearance
