GDIT is seeking a Level II Cloud Engineer to provide 24/7 support in order to help customers seamlessly operate their hybrid on-premises cloud infrastructure on our Cloud Support contract in Reston, VA. Due to the nature of work this role entails, telecommuting is not allowed and will require the employee to report full-time onsite.
When customers cannot resolve issues themselves, your job will be to ensure that we have the necessary tools and processes to resolve the issue. You will troubleshoot technical problems for customers with a mix of debugging, networking, system administration, updating documentation, and when needed, coding/scripting. Additional tasks and responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
Manage the customer’s problem through effective diagnosis, resolution, or implementation of new investigation tools to increase productivity for customer issues on Cloud Service Provider products.
Develop an in-depth understanding of Cloud Service Provide technology and underlying architectures by troubleshooting, reproducing, determining the root cause for customer reported issues, and building tools for faster diagnosis.
Act as a consultant and subject matter experts for internal stakeholders in engineering, sales, and customer organizations to resolve technical deployment obstacles and improve Cloud Service Provider offerings.
Work as part of a team of engineers/consultants that globally ensures 24 hour customer support.
Active Top Secret security clearance and the ability to be upgraded to TS/SCI
Able to obtain a DoD 8570 IAT Level II certification within 60 days from start of employment
Bachelor’s Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics, or equivalent work experience in lieu of de
10+ years of relevant, practical experience
Industry experience working in Government, dealing with sensitive/classified workloads.
Experience configuring and troubleshooting Kubernetes infrastructure
General Cloud skills/experience
Able to report onsite as indicated above
Active TS/SCI Clearance
DoD 8570 IAT Level II certification
Experience with any of the following IaaS solutions: system visualization, on-premise and/or hybrid cloud computing, cloud identity and security system, cloud monitoring and logging and/or local and cloud storage
Experience with any of the following cloud storage solutions: SQL database administration, cloud application development platforms, open-source software communities, cloud networking solutions and/or distributed computing technology.
Knowledge of basic web technologies (HTTP, HTML, DNS, etc.)
Client-facing role: Excellent customer service and communication skills (verbal and written)
