Our work depends on a Gatling/Scala Test Automation Engineer joining our team remotely to support the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) activities.

At GDIT, we put our people first. As a Gatling/Scala Test Automation Engineer supporting CMS, you will be trusted to create test automation strategies and scripts, support data and environment configuration, and performs continuous testing for security, API, and regression suites. You will participate in code reviews, and report defects to support continuous improvement activities for the end-to-end testing process. In this role, a typical day will include:

  • Developing and maintaining end-to-end automation testing frameworks and scripts to test a Java/Scala-developed application and REST APIs, ensuring adherence to technical designs.
  • Testing fixes in different environments, including production, after development issue troubleshooting.
  • Writing functional test cases and conducting walkthroughs with Test and Functional Leads.
  • Creating and executing unit tests for developed components.
  • Working with Business Analysts to identify design gaps and functionality improvements.
  • Assisting Scrum Masters and Test Lead with estimates for new functionality and/or enhancements.
  • Applying knowledge of technologies, applications, methodologies, processes, and tools to support the client and project.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field
  • 3+ years of hands-on experience as a test automation developer, including experience implementing and maintaining automated test scrips
  • 3+ years of experience with Selenium for automation testing
  • 2+ years of experience with Gatling for Scala
  • Hands-on experience with Postman API testing and building test suite collection, to test REST APIs
  • Hands-on experience in using JIRA and Confluence
  • Experience with build/version control tools, such as Jenkins, Subversion, and/or GitHub
  • Experience developing testing documentation, such as Test Summary Reports and requirements traceability reports
  • Familiarity with NoSQL databases
  • Familiarity with Agile methodologies and/or experience working on an Agile team
  • Candidate must be able to obtain Public Trust clearance
  • Candidate must have lived in the United States at least three (3) out of the last five (5) years

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • US citizen or a Green Card holder.
  • Health Care Industry or Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) experience.
  • JAVA/Scala Development background.
  • Ability to perform in high pressure environment and under strict deadlines.
  • Ability to adapt to quickly changing priorities.
  • Detail oriented, with strong follow-up skills to ensure completion of test completion.

Salary and Benefit Information

The likely salary range for this position is $56,000 - $84,000, this is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary; rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
