Job Description

GDIT is seeking a strong .NET Developer to provide full software lifecycle development, performance, support, and maintenance across a number of custom software components and applications.  The ideal candidate will have a passion for designing and building secure, scalable software architectures and solutions. The .NET Developer will work as part of a team and utilize agile best practices and coding standards while completing project tasks including coding, testing, debugging, documenting and maintaining application code. In addition to expertise on the .NET platform, the applicant must have excellent communication skills.

Responsibilities
  • Transform complex customer requirements into working, maintainable enterprise-level solutions
  • Design, develop, and implement multi-tiered web-enabled applications using .NET, MVC 4+, C#, JavaScript, jQuery, AJAX, JSON, HTML5, CSS3
  • Experience with .NET’s Entity Framework and LINQ query language
  • Work with Business Process Analysts to design and develop solutions and workflows that meet business requirements
  • Optimize performance of web applications applying best standards
  • Create functions and libraries to be used by team of developers
  • Write unit test cases to perform TDD
  • Work with Testers to transfer knowledge and ensure adequate test coverage
  • Provide light-weight documentation as needed
  • Participate in design and code reviews
  • Manage source code using Visual Studio & Git Source Control.
  • Suggest business process improvements while working through solution design
  • Working in an agile environment with daily scrums.
Skills Required
  • Minimum bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent with more than 5 years’ experience working with .Net technologies
  • Experience constructing web applications using C# .NET
  • Experience with Microsoft Visual Studio.
  • Experience with front-end frameworks like Bootstrap, Jquery, KendoUI, Angular, etc.
  • Experience using .Net MVC5 (Razor view pages), HTML 5 & CSS 3
  • Experience using Linq queries, Entity Framework 4.0 or higher.
  • Proficiency in RESTful API design
  • Advanced proficiency in Sql concepts including query optimization
  • Strong understanding of database design concepts such as normalization and column indexing
  • Proficient in unit and integration testing
  • Experience refining requirements, architecting, designing, implementing, testing, and deploying solutions
  • working with Git Source Control (branching, merging, patching) 
  • Experience with Jira, Confluence, Bit-bucket (Atlassian Suite), Jenkins and other CI/CD tools.
  • Experience with Cloud-based service and development environment, such as AWS
  • Experience with Agile/SCRUM
  • Be an independent thinker and self-starter
  • Have ability to adopt to continuously changing requirements and work streams
Skills Preferred
  • Experience with Embedded Document Viewer,
  • Knowledge of Logging tools & logging optimization strategies
  • Knowledge of application security protocols, policies & tools
  • Any Microsoft certifications is a plus
  • Understanding of cloud computing concepts
  • Developing web applications that are Section 508 compliant
  • Experience with SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS)
