The Senior Financial Analyst is responsible for performing specialized financial, accounting or planning activities following general project or departmental guidelines, procedures in support of various functions such as budgeting, auditing and financial planning. Determines cost of operations by establishing standard costs; collecting operational data. Improves financial status by analyzing results; monitoring variances; identifying trends; recommending actions to management. Reconciles transactions by comparing and correcting data.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Responsible for various financial functions such as budgeting, auditing, forecasting, and analysis.
  • Collects and reviews financial data from various sources.
  • Creates, maintains, and updates financial databases and spreadsheets, and generates various financial reports as required.
  • Analyzes assigned contracts’ projected staff hours, contract totals, revenues, and profit totals.
  • Maintains appropriate records and documentation.
  • Supports assigned managers in managing, tracking, monitoring, and reporting financial data as requested.
  • Conducts audits and analysis of their organization’s direct and indirect costs, and reviews their practices and procedures, ensuring that labor and non-labor charges are approved, allowable, and processed in a timely manner.
  • May have risk identification and recovery responsibilities.
  • Ensures compliance with internal policies and procedures, as well as other government regulations.
  • Maintains current knowledge of relevant laws, regulations, policies, and procedures.


REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree plus 5+ years of relevant experience; OR equivalent combination of education, training and relevant work experience.
  • Experience performing financial analysis at the program or corporate level.
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills (ie. Excel, PowerPoint, Word) and knowledge of financial systems.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience in Government contracting preferred
  • Knowledge of Oracle preferred
