Job Description

The HST Border Security Business Area has a senior leadership opportunity in a large program supporting the U.S. Customs and Border Protection.  The Program Manager will be responsible for all aspects of a large IT support contract including program planning, delivery, contract administration, managing customer relationships, financial performance, technical, personnel management (including building a high performing team), and administrative matters of a large IDIQ Contract and Task Orders. This DHS program affords a significant opportunity for transformational leadership, supporting one of the Government’s largest agencies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serves as the key leader and program representative, engaging with senior customer officials and GDIT senior leaders on all aspects of program performance
  • Sets the program strategy in partnership with the customer – leads the team through transformation and fulfillment of the strategy
  • Participates as the program representative in senior client meetings
  • Manages, directs, and allocates resources to ensure on-time delivery of top-quality managed services
  • Works with key stakeholders to resolve all scope and schedule issues
  • Manages processes and procedures (improving as needed) to ensure all contract requirements are met, including customer billing, staffing, and security
  • Manages program financials and leads related program performance reviews
  • Ensures all contract deliverables are met and that GDIT exceeds the customers’ expectations

Required Skills / Experience

  • Minimum a Bachelors Degree or 20 years of experience
  • Experience delivering IT Managed Services for use by a large-scale government agency, including managing SLAs and related financials
  • Exceptional communication skills with extensive experience talking with SES-level government officials and C-level corporate personnel
  • Candidate must have a PMP, ITIL Expert, and ISO 20000 certifications, cloud security certification is highly desired
  • 15 years of experience managing IT infrastructure programs of increasing complexity
  • Broad and high-level technical skills including infrastructure strategy, design, transition, operations, Cloud services, continuous improvement,
  • Possesses strong strategic planning and organizational skills, including the ability to layout, articulate and implement a large-scale program strategy
  • Proven experience managing commercial cloud services or resell including AWS or Azure
  • Ability to manage and lead a large team, including driving high performance and ensuring highly motivated and cohesive teams
  • Ability to be flexible, make quick decisions, and seamlessly navigate risks and ambiguity while effectively navigating a dynamic project environment
  • Possesses strong consulting and customer service skills and ability to establish good relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen

Desired Skills / Experience

  • Master’s Degree
  • Experience with large-scale hybrid cloud transformation and architectures, including delivering hybrid cloud managed services
  • Strong understanding of National Security customers, including DoD, IC agencies and DHS
