GDIT is in need of a Senior Systems Administrator to support U.S. Army Europe & Africa (USAREUR-AF) as a member of our EMITS program team.
The Senior Systems Administrator shall provide technical support in the management of networks, software, hardware, configurations, and architectures.
Job Duties Include:
Monitors Enterprise ticketing system and responds accordingly to resolve customer issues
Administers desktop systems connected to local and wide area networks
Provides support for implementation, troubleshooting and maintenance of IT systems
Troubleshoots technical issues, complex system hardware and software issues
Develops technical solutions for the management of networks, software, hardware, configurations, and architectures
Performs software installations and upgrades to operating systems and layered software packages
Communicates/coordinates scheduled preventative maintenance windows with potentially impacted customers
Leads efforts to ensure data/media recoverability by following a schedule of system backups and database archive operations
Ensures sufficient storage space by performing clean-ups and archiving data
Adds users, manages permissions, and controls access to systems, document libraries and data
Assists with the setup, configuration, and management of SharePoint application features, functions, and services of the team’s SharePoint portal
Provides technical support and guidance for SharePoint users
Collaborates with management to strategize the most efficient ways to apply SharePoint to meet team’s goals and mission objectives
Provides ongoing support and enhancement of SharePoint portal by driving alignment with industry standards and best practices
Assists other SharePoint administrators supporting enterprise applications
Enables knowledge flow to enhance shared understanding, learning and decision making
Provides input to briefings, transitions concepts to execution, develops courses of action (COAs), and assists in project technical planning and implementation
Develops standard operating procedures (SOP) and system documentation
May coach and provide guidance to less-experienced professionals
May serve as a team or task lead
Required Qualifications:
Active TS/SCI
Must be able to obtain German TESA
Bachelor’s Degree and 8+ years of relevant experience or an equivalent combination of education and years of experience
DoD 8570 certification: IAM or IAT Level II Certification (Security+ CE, CCNA Security, CySA+, GICSP, GSEC, CND, or SSCP)
Extensive knowledge of Windows OS and Office 365
Experience with configuration and management of SharePoint infrastructure technologies
Experience with Information Assurance practices and principles
Preferred Qualifications:
Provide critical problem solving and advanced troubleshooting in SharePoint, including site problems, address site permission issues, creation and configuration of sites and sub-sites, and assist in definition of site resources
Strong writing and editing skills
