Sailor 2025 is a program focused on three core pillars – Personnel System Modernization; Ready Relevant Learning (RRL); and Career Readiness. The second pillar Ready, Relevant Learning (RRL) deals primarily with doing away with the old way of brick and mortar schoolhouses, or industrial age training, and replacing the curriculum with career-long learning continuums where training is delivered by modern methods to enable faster learning, better knowledge retention, and delivery at the right time and in the right way for our Sailors. This job opportunity's objective is the creation and delivery of products in support of the Sailor 2025 (S2025) Ready Relevant Learning (RRL) Content Conversion Wave 1 effort.

The S2025 Master Scheduler will support the S2025 Program Management Office (PMO), in Chesapeake, VA, with focus on Integrated Master Schedule (IMS). The Master Scheduler will develop and update the IMS, work breakdown structure, and detailed schedules as well as identify and manage project dependencies, timelines, milestones, and critical path analysis using Microsoft Project. The Master Scheduler will be dedicated to the implementation and management of a large, complex Instructional design and development contract, applying project management principles and industry best practices to develop and maintain detailed project schedules. The applicant must have the ability to work closely with multiple Project Managers to produce, maintain and integrate project schedules as sub-projects into an overall IMS.

Duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Developing the format, tools and tracking/reporting methods in accordance with customer requirements.
  • Perform analysis and reporting for project schedule health and performance metrics and participate and/or provide input to project status reporting and meetings including input to risk and issue tracking.
  • Perform audits of schedules for performance to plan variance and support corrective action to improve scheduling and contingency planning processes.
  • Managing and integrating multiple schedules.
  • Analyzing Earned Value Management metrics.
  • Managing baseline versus actual performance tracking.

  • 5+ years' experience scheduling and reporting on complex projects.
  • Must be a MS Project expert.
  • Strong oral and written communications skills, interpersonal skills, and self-starter motivated to achieve objectives and meet expectations.
  • Experience performing analysis and schedule monitoring to disseminate, create, and present highly detailed and complex schedule information to diverse audiences.
  • Experience with other MS Office applications, such as Visio and Excel.
  • Must hold an active Secret clearance.
