Join General Dynamics Information Technology’s Defense Division to provide software development support on a highly collaborative, fast-paced, growth-focused program. As a software developer, you will be responsible for designing, documenting, implementing, and maintaining custom applications for a Government customer. Successful candidates must have a strong understanding of DOD cloud governance and cloud application services for DOD customers. We are looking for Business Analyst / Technical Writer who holds active secret clearance at Scott Air Force Base in O'Fallon, Illinois.
The key responsibility would be to create and help maintain technical and end-user documentation for new and existing applications for future maintenance and updates.
Additional duties include:
Preparation, review, revision, and maintenance of technical documents including software and systems engineering, system operations, testing, and user documentation
Write and edit technical documentation for all of the project’s hardware and software to include installation, configuration and how-to documentation
May need to create standardized and update templates for Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Tactics, Techniques and Procedures (TTPs) produces implementation guides and end-user guides for capabilities.
Apply concepts for technical writing based on engineering drawings, technical information from engineering documentation, consultations with developers and subject matter experts, and other sources.
Research highly technical subject matter, organize information from multiples sources, and express technical information in written form that is comprehensible to a wide audience of readers.
Create and help maintain technical and end-user documentation for new and existing applications for future maintenance and updates.
DOD Active Secret Clearance required
BA/BS or equivalent degree or related field and 5+ years of Technical Writing experience or related 9+ years’ experience
Knowledge of the principles and practices involved in technical research, writing, and editing.
Knowledge of and ability to use various word-processing and desktop publishing software applications.
Knowledge of the organization’s products and services, customer requirements, purpose and structure of required documentation, and end user’s level of understanding.
