GDIT has a great opportunity for a JAVA / J2EE Software Engineer to work with a J2EE technology stack in a collaborative, productive Agile development environment. As a Software Engineer on this high-profile project, you will be involved in a strategic initiative to support the ENERGY STAR program by maintaining and modernizing a publicly used system that is multi-national, multi-lingual to the US, Canada and possibly other countries. Strategic initiatives include modernizing the existing application to leverage AWS cloud services. This large complex application is used internally and by the public, includes web transactions; web services integrated with utility companies, energy providers, bill pay services, and others; data warehousing with business intelligence reporting; and more.
Work alongside with other engineers to develop new J2EE applications in an agile software development team using scrum
Work as part of a development team in a fast moving environment with new iterations every 10 days, communicating with Customers, Project Managers, Requirements Analysts, Testers, and other team members.
Work at an extreme level of collaboration, including pairing, working in a common team space.
Participate in regular team reviews assessing each other’s performance and helping to implement continuous improvement activities (Sprint Retrospectives).
Experience with microservice architecture style
B.S. Computer Science, Software Engineering, I.S./I.T. or related field and 5+ years of experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience
Experience with the following technology stack and frameworks:
J2EE, Spring, Hibernate, Oracle, MongoDB
U.S. Citizenship is required
The likely salary range for this position is $92,000 - $138,000, this is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary; rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
