HOW AN ETL AND DQ SYSTEMS ENGINEER WILL MAKE AN IMPACT: 

  • Performing extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) of data from multiple sources into appropriate landing tables
  • Profiling incoming data to identify various patterns, inconsistencies, column characteristics, distinct values and perform data distribution
  • Cleansing and manipulating data into acceptable values (trimming, normalization, various data manipulation functions, etc.), and using address validation of incoming records (using Address Doctor) to identify exceptions
  • Loading the cleansed data into staging tables for MDM or EDC consumption
  • Creating Data Quality Scorecards on various attributes to ‘grade’ the source data to the Golden Record (completeness, accuracy, duplication, consistency, conformity, integrity), and Data Analyst tool allows data stewards to choose components, create and refresh scorecards
  • Scheduling the above listed tasks for automation purposes

WHAT YOU’LL NEED:  

Education:

  • BA/BS or equivalent, Bachelor’s degree is preferred

Required Experience:

  • 10+ years of professional experience 

Security Clearance Level:

  • Must be able to obtain a Position of Public Trust Clearance
    • US Citizen or Permanent Resident (Green Card Holder)
  • The security clearance for this program requires the selected candidate to have resided in the US for the past five years. The selected candidate cannot have left the country for longer than 90 consecutive days and no more than 180 cumulative days.  

Required Skills and Abilities:

  • Minimum of 10 years’ work experience in the following:
    • Experience with Red Hat Linux and Informatica product(s)
    • Strong database experience in any or all of - Oracle, SQL Server, Teradata, DB2
    • Strong in Informatica ETL coding, shell scripting and have Linux/RedHat experience
    • Exposure in installing Informatica or other off the shelf products
    • Ability to research tool and platform related problems and document /articulate appropriate resolutions
  • Technical skills to extract and transform various types of data, and ability to profile and analyze the data to determine patterns, inconsistencies, column characteristics, and knowledge to apply transformation functions and map the data to appropriate staging tables
  • Capability to create various scheduling jobs to automate the above processes (using DQ tool / Admin console)
  • Knowledge of DQ Data Analyst tool is also needed in order to support appropriate tasks for creating score cards, data profiling, creation of rules and reference data

Desired Skill:
 

  • Experience in any or all of the following is a plus- Spark, Map Reduce, Hive, Scala, Cassandra and other open-source technologies

The likely salary range for this position is $120,000 - $180,000, this is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary; rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
