Electronics Engineer, Associate -- Kuwait (Secret Clearance Required)

GDIT has a new and exciting opportunity for an Electronics Engineer, Associate at Camp Arifjan, Kuwait.  Must have a current and active Secret Clearance. Transferable Kuwaiti residence visa 18. The role will support our Depot Level Maintenance and repair program for Tactical Power Generation and Environmental Control Units (ECUs) in Kuwait.  The role will require you to support the day to day operation of the facility in its performance of troubleshooting, fault isolation, and field maintenance repair for a variety of power commercial generation equipment; other military design generators and Environmental Control Units (ECUs) to include various electronic systems as required. This position can require the conduct of work outdoors with potential exposure to extreme climatic conditions, including frequent dust storms and high temperatures – up to 130F degrees in the summer months.

Role Responsibilities:

• Perform all aspects of electronic systems troubleshooting and repair to include communications-electronics and EW systems.
• Performs inspections of system components, preventive maintenance, testing and troubleshooting of modules and circuit cards to the lowest replaceable unit (LRU)/component.
• Perform logistic support requirements such as research, and equipment and spare part inventories.
• Perform operational tests and return to service checks.
• Read and interpret schematic and engineering drawings and diagrams.
• Develop integration plans and perform hardware integrations.
• Maintain strong attention to detail.
• Maintain a positive attitude and work as a member of a cohesive team as well as independently.
• Interact with all levels of the organization in a professional, diplomatic, and tactful way. 
• Multi-task efficiently and work in a fast pace environment on multiple projects.
• Work with minimal supervision, documents maintenance tasks via local or web-based reporting system, provides system functional briefings to customer and supervisor.
• Train personnel at the installation site in the proper use of highly specialized electronic equipment.
• Performs all other duties assigned.
• It may be required to go TDY to multiple locations within SWA.
• The majority of the time spent providing repairs in a shop environment and at the customer location.

The Ideal Candidate must have:

• An active U.S. Government SECRET clearance.
• BA/BS and 3 years experience, AA/AS plus 7 years experience; or a High School Diploma and 9 years experience.
• The candidate must have 2+ years remaining on a passport.
• Passport must obtain 6 blank pages together.
• Ability to successfully complete CRC (medically/physically) and deploy.
• Valid drivers license.
• Valid US Passport.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office software products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

The Ideal Candidate will have:

• Experience in interpreting system drawings, electronic schematics, network drawings, engineering drawings.
• Capable of performing analysis of system operations and performing training.
• Experience troubleshooting, fault finding, and repair of electronic equipment.
• Experience with communications analyzers (service monitors) spectrum analyzers, and volt meters.
• Experience working in hostile and austere environments.
• Experience in Customer support.
• Experience in stock control and asset management.

Desirable Skills/Qualifications:

• Industry and trade certifications. Preference is given for military credentials/experience.
• A graduate of the US Army Power Generation Equipment Repairer (MOS 91D) course or a graduate of a technical school or manufacturers instruction course.
• Experience in a forward-facing customer support role.
• Hands-on experience with electrical circuits, power cables, controls, and motors.
• Knowledge of U.S. Army Safety Guidelines and OSHA Standards.
