GDIT is seeking a Senior Systems Administrator in Alexandria, VA.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the operational availability and maintenance of FMTS PeopleSoft production, development, test and staging environments and instances (FMTS has both Unclassified/FOUO and SECRET instances) 

  • Troubleshoot hardware and software errors by running diagnostics, documenting problems and resolutions, prioritizing problems, and assessing impact of issues

  • Provide documentation and technical specifications to IT staff for planning and implementing new or upgrades of IT infrastructure

  • Support helpdesk functions, making sure all application and process scheduler issues are resolved in a timely manner with limited disruptions

  • Works with database administrator for capacity, storage planning, and database performance

  • Exercise responsibility for the preparation and implementation of server updates and patches per IAVA direction; audit logs, and data backups and logs; verify operating system and Commercial-Off-The-Shelf (COTS) software Security and Development Security Technical Implementation Guide (STIG) settings, parameters, password rules, etc. 

  • Sustain server environments in compliance with RMF Security Classification “Medium, Medium and Medium” for confidentially, integrity, and availability (CIA) (formerly DIACAP Mission Assurance Category (MAC) Level III) IA controls in accordance with DOD 8500.01, Cyber Security. 

  • Assist in the performance of FMTS application codes security reviews and associated code updates. 

  • Design and maintain FMTS Web interface-Home and Reference pages, including content and branding 

  • Coordinate with database administrator to perform periodic PeopleSoft application environment refreshes 

  • Assists with PeopleSoft project migration to Production system and maintain migration procedures to ensure change control 

  • Supports PeopleSoft Administrator with regular updates to the PeopleSoft HCM 9.2 application, and with updates and upgrades of underlying People Tools and third party products to maintain cybersecurity and vendor supportability.

  • Document and communicate project activities to the manager on a regular basis.

 

Required Qualifications:  

  • Active Top Secret security clearance and US Citizenship required

  • A Secret clearance can be considered if a candidate maintains T5 Security Background Investigation, in order to obtain IT Level I access to servers

  • Certified System Administrator with Microsoft Windows

  • Security+ certification 

  • Associate or Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, System Administration, or a closely related field, or equivalent experience required

  • 8 years of System Administration experience

  • Qualified for Department of Defense IT work per DOD Instruction 8570.01, with certification in cybersecurity and computing environment skills according to the role:

Technical Skills/Knowledge:   

  • Knowledge of, and experience with, PeopleSoft HCM Applications (9.2 platform) and PeopleTools 8.59 and higher, three-tier architecture 

  • Working knowledge of virtualization, VMWare, or equivalent

  • Knowledge of, and experience with, the process of installing applications 

  • Working knowledge of, and experience with, web design tools

  • Understands project plans and project management methodologies. 

  • Problem solving and analytical skills

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • People skills, leadership qualities and team player

  • Self-starter, proactively delivers high-quality service to clients

  • Able to manage his/her projects with ability to set objectives and prioritize multiple tasks 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with Microsoft Project a plus. 

  • Other System administration and IT certifications in Microsoft, LINUX, or other network related fields are a plus
