  • Review medical records and research medical record documentation to provide advice and instruction to abstractors and validation specialists on clinical data abstraction.
  • Review abstractor and validation specialist questions related to diagnosis and codes documented in the medical record.
  • Respond in a timely manner to abstractor and validation specialist questions through the white sheet process.  
  • Inventory and track medical records in the white sheet process.
  • Assist Project Coordinator in preparation of training plans for classroom presentations regarding medical record data collection and design training exercises. 
  • Write or modify existing training plans, including text, handouts, job aids, and tests.
  • Assist in creation and presentation of training programs following outline, handouts, and texts. 
  • Monitor training progress of participants. 
  • Observe trainees and answer trainees’ questions.  
  • Participate in project workgroups in the areas of curriculum development and training. 
  • Follow all established processes and procedures.
  • Maintain security and confidentiality of medical records and Protected Health Information (PHI).
  • Consistently meet or exceed expectations regarding quality and quantity of work established by the Company.
  • Consistently meet attendance standards established by the Company.
  • Interact appropriately with peers and other co-workers. Contribute to building a positive team spirit.
  • Perform other duties and projects as assigned.

  • Requires a High School Diploma or GED.
  • Associates Degree preferred.


  • 1-3 years of related experience supporting training activities.
  • 2+ years of experience in work involving hospital medical record review is required.
  • Technical training in medical record review is preferred.
