For the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), GDIT provides enterprise IT services for DHS’s biometric identity management system (IDENT) and the Office of Biometric Identity Management (OBIM) to store, match, share, and analyze biometric and biographic data in support of DHS’s strategic mission. GDIT’s O&M services support break-fix of current OBIM functional capabilities, as well as security remediation activities and developmental engineering (such as prototyping new code or configurations of OBIM functionality). GDIT is looking for a senior Business Intelligence Tool and Report Developer to serve on the ODS BI Reporting team for this large, complex task order. The successful candidate will be entrepreneurial and work independently but collaboratively to develop reporting solutions sourced from AWS Redshift OLAP, OLTP (current state) and data lakes (future).  The successful candidate will provide guidence on future tools and directions, educate our customer on the value of BI; will develop business intelligence reporting/data visualization, data analytic solutions using Cloud and AWS BI reporting tools, sourcing from AWS Redshift star schema datamarts and data lakes (structured, unstructured, S3).  Other specific responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Develop BI reports, dashboards, and other analytical tools on existing reporting schemas - datamarts, transactional and unstructured
• Lead reporting Proof of Concept projects, including setup, design, test, and advanced tool feature exploration
• Anticipate customer operational challenges and identify unrecognized needs and/or mitagations for potential issues
• Provide guidance and administration for user security and access to the BI applications and supporting data analytic tools
• Maintain unified metadata repository linking data layers to report/semantic layer
• Provide post-production support/O&M, which may include on-call 24x7 support
• Provide user and operational requirements analysis, user education, and training

Required Skills / Qualifications:
• U.S. citizenship
• DHS HQ EOD required to start; must be able to obtain DHS HQ Final Suitability
• BS or equivalent and 10+ yrs related experience
• Expertise developing BI reports, dashboards, and/or predictive analytics using BI tools such as Birst, Power BI, Microstrategy, Tableu, AWS Quicksight, OBIEE, etc.
• Expetise developing BI reports, visualization,  dashboards, navigation aids, custom objects (derived measures, dimensions, calculations) usable by business analysts for self-service
• Expertise developing customized integrations using BI APIs, Java, Python, JSON, Linux shell scripting, etc.
• Expertise in SQL development

Desired Skills / Qualifications:
• BS or equivalent and 15+ yrs related experience
• Degree in systems engineering, computer science, information systems, or other relevant technical field of study
• Experience developing and/or managing BI tool security administration (user, row, column)
• Experience in BI tool performance trouble-shooting and tuning
• Experience integrating/customizing BI tools and secured authentication (e.g., SAML )
• Experience developing/reporting from Data Lakes / unstructured data sources
• Experience developing Python, Perl, R, Linux shell scripting, and/or JSON and integrating with AWS and other APIs
• Experience implementing cloud-based ETL, e.g., Informatica Integrated Cloud Solution (IICS), GLUE, and/or other ETL tools
• Experience with Data modeling tools, e.g., Erwin
• Experience with large DHS systems and/or identity data
• AWS Certification
