Our work depends on a Public Health Advisor/Comms Specialist joining our team to support Pandemic Response activities at the Centers for Disease Control in Atlanta, GA. In this role you will provide training and support to CDC employees as they prepare for deployment to local, regional, national, or even international deployments

At GDIT, we put our people first. As a Public Health Advisor supporting the CDC’s Division of Emergency Operations, you will be trusted to develop and implement training and educational products by utilizing the best new approaches and technology for live and web-based training.

This position is currently working 100% from home due to COVID restrictions. Candidates should be in the Atlanta, GA area and able to travel to CDCs Clifton Rd campus when needed.

  • Conduct epidemiological and statistical analysis and assist with production for the daily CDC COVID-19 Response Update and reports to inform the CDC Director, the National Response Coordination Center (NRCC), HHS Agencies, and White House on the daily status and impacts of the Pandemic.

  • Provide direct support to the COVID-19 Incident Manager and Scientific Response Task Forces in data analysis, database management, and production of analytical dashboards and visualizations to provide assessments and summarizations of disease and population indicators.

  • Apply epidemiological methods and statistical tools (SAS, SPSS, R, JAVA Script, etc.) to develop and maintain COVID-19 data services, automated report templates, and PowerBI Dashboards responsible for daily Agency reporting.

  • Provide informatics support in maintaining the COVID-19 Information Collection Plan, Information Exchange Matrices, Standard Operating Procedures, and data pipe-line processing and workflow diagrams


  • Three (3) years of applied science experience in bioinformatics research and analysis using databases and/or software.

  • BS degree in Biology or other Applied Science with quantitative analysis requirements.
