Conduct research and assess potential applications of emerging technologies. Identify and evaluate the suitability of commercial-off-the-shelf (COTS)/non-developmental item (NDI) equipment to satisfy functional requirements. Evaluate deficiencies, including environmental (i.e. temperature) considerations of COTS/NDI equipment candidates and propose resolutions. Conduct performance testing of COTSINDI equipment to evaluate its compliance with performance specifications and to assess interoperability. Additionally, make recommendations to Government based on emerging industry trends; commercial best practices; state-of-the-art development and other Government organization recommendations.
