Job Description

Information Systems Manager

XVIII ABC Hub and Spoke MTCs provide individual and collective training on Army Mission Command Systems, using a variety of tools and Army fielded systems. These systems are used to support Small Unit Training: Squads through Company, Medium Unit Training: Battalion through Brigade, and Large Unit Training: Divisions and Corps in training environments ranging from Stability and Support Operations (SSO) through Unified Land Operations (ULO).

HOW the Information Systems Manager WILL MAKE AN IMPACT:

Manages the information systems design, development, analysis of digital training computer systems as required to support Mission Command training activities at XVIII ABN Hub and Spoke Mission Training Complexes (MTC). Responsibilities include directing technical support activities that encompass system administration, system engineering, database management, system integration and network engineering services in support of all on site and site supported training activities that employ digital Mission Command Systems (MCS), Mission Command stimulation systems, simulation systems and virtual training systems. These functions include the installation, maintenance, and control of MCS applications for logistics, intelligence, and fire support as well as the underlying computer operating systems.

Develops and executes management policies and technical operations in support of the MTC directed tasks. Provides daily support and supervision of work assignments to Technical Integrators (TI) supporting Collective and Individual Training with Mission Command Systems (MCS), Constructive Simulations and Gaming capabilities. Authors and/or implements the Hub and Spoke Technical Certification and Training Plan.

  • Leadership -- Supervises and directs subordinate supervisors in the planning, preparation and delivery of Mission Command training technical support. Develops advanced concepts, techniques, and standards. Provides analytical and technical support to projects involving training, tactical/operational documentation or other efforts requiring technical operations expertise.

  • Technical Management Tasks – Supervises a team of technologists operate training networks, administrate Mission Command Information System (MCIS) servers and clients, and conduct cyber security via the Risk Management Framework.
  • Collaboration. works closely with the Site Manager, Training Support Lead, and Plans and Operations Lead to support Gaming and Simulations, Individual training, and collective training

WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED:

Requirements:

  • Education/Experience: Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or a related technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, technical training, or work experience. 5+ years’ experience supporting military training.
  • DoD Certification and Training Requirements:
    • Baseline Certification CASP+ (CISSP Preferred)
    • Technical Category and Level: IAM-2
  • Security Clearance: Current SECRET required
  • Location: Fort Drum MTC. Normal work schedule is 0730-1630, may require night or weekend work shifts depending on specific training event requirements.
  • Travel: May require occasional travel (less than 10%)
