GDIT currently has a 56+ person team providing systems development, operational and infrastructure support, and application support to the Administrative Systems Office (ASO) of the Administrative Office of the US Courts. The GDIT team is currently seeking a Functional Business Analyst to join a dynamic team tasked with creating the Judiciary Electronic Filing System – Nationally Deployable System (JEFS NDS) which will modernize the current business systems and processes used by the Financial Disclosure Office (FDO), financial disclosure form filers, designees, and the public requesting reports.
This role involves working with all stakeholders (including business leaders and end users) to analyze business needs, working with the lead developer and the team to design appropriate solutions in an agile environment, and ensuring that solutions meet stakeholder expectations.
Responsibilities include the following:
Functions as a technical expert across multiple project teams and across functional units (where appropriate), while serving as the key coordinator between customers and multiple project team members to document and implement new initiatives.
Analyze and document business processes to help identify how JEFS NDS can meet those requirements.
Work with the Lead Developer and User Experience (UX) analyst to design appropriate solutions and be a liaison between IT and stakeholders to ensure that solutions meet stakeholder expectations.
Create functional requirements and maintain project documentation to ensure business requirements are accurately recorded.
Participate in team and client interactions, possibly with more senior team members, to develop solutions suited to specific business needs.
Provide training and best practice guidance to business leaders and end users.
Provide Tier 1 response for end user support requests received through the AO service desk; escalate tickets as needed.
BA/BS degree with 10+ years of directly related experience (or MA/MS with 8+ years of directly related experience).
3-5 years Business Analyst experience including: writing requirements documents.
Experience working in JIRA, Agile (SCRUM/Kanban) software development methodologies.
Define functional requirements that can be used to propose technical solutions. Review existing solutions to avoid redundancy.
Recommend functional solutions that support business processes and functions.
Map the as-is processes and translate them into to-be requirements.
Work with a dynamic team to refine and expand the solutions based upon user’s feedback.
Analyze and verify business requirements for completeness, consistency, feasibility, and testability.
Collect and analyze the project’s business requirements and transfer the same knowledge to the development team.
Proficiency with Technical Writing, Analytical Ability, Problem Solving skills.
Able to understand existing systems and change priorities quickly and have a capacity to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
