GDIT is seeking a Windows System Administrator to support 24/7/365 operations in Wiesbaden, Germany supporting U.S. Army Europe as a member of our EMITS Program Team.
This position is part of a shift work schedule which includes coverage on nights, weekends, and holidays.
The Systems Administrator will be responsible for maintaining an enterprise Microsoft Windows environment, including sustaining the Windows Certificate Authority, DNS, Active Directory, and other core services.
Provide routine technical support in the management of networks, software, hardware, configurations, and architectures
Troubleshoots system hardware and software issues
Trains end users on the proper use of hardware and software Performs basic software installations and upgrades to operating systems and layered software packages
Monitors and tunes systems to achieve optimum performance levels
Ensures workstation/server data integrity by implementing standard software and hardware solutions
Ensure data/media recoverability by following a schedule of system backups and database archive operations
Conducts basic hardware and software audits of workstations and servers to ensure compliance with established standards, policies, and configuration guidelines
Ensures that performance and security of computers meet the needs of network users
May evaluate existing systems and assist with planning long-term strategies
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Active Secret Level Security Clearance
BA/BS or equivalent, 2+ years of experience
Must be able to obtain a German TESA
Successful candidates should also have a fundamental knowledge of networking fundamentals and basic Linux administration. Experience with Mobile Device Management platforms, such as Samsung Knox, is a plus.
Experience managing systems in a virtual environment is a must.
