Our work depends on an Application Architect joining our team to support New York State Department of Heath Medicaid Management Information System activities at Riverview Center in Menands, NY.

At GDIT, we foster a people-centric environment. As an Application Architect supporting the eMedNY Architecture team, you will be trusted to provide comprehensive Medicaid Fiscal Agent services in the operations and enhancement of the statewide Medicaid Management Information Systems (MMIS). You will join a group of high performing Architects to work on mission critical systems with extremely stringent response time and continuous availability service level agreements. In this role, a typical day will include:

  • Perform architectural analysis and design for systems spanning the enterprise architecture portfolio
  • Partner with various business stakeholders and technology leaders to translate program requirements into technical solutions and system designs. Work closely with other members of the technology teams, including developers, SME's and technical leads, to evaluate solutions and gain consensus on technical direction
  • Document and communicate architecture, estimates, and implementation plans to program stakeholders
  • Research, design, test, and evaluate new technologies and solutions. Maintain an organization-wide view of current and future business and architecture to provide solutions that integrate into the overall architectural vision and strategy
  • Support continuous improvement with creative and efficient solutions. Develop and suggest alternative approaches to problem resolution. Assist in resolving production support issues
  • Provide leadership and expertise in the development of standards, application governance, design patterns, and practices

WHAT YOU’LL NEED:

  • Bachelor’s in Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering, or a related field
  • 10+ years of experience in the Architecture field
  • 8 years of experience developing, deploying, and supporting software applications
  • 2 years of experience in Microservices and RESTful application development
  • Expertise in all stages of the software development lifecycle
  • Collaborate with the rest of the engineering team to design and launch new features.
  • Maintain code integrity and organization.
  • Understanding and implementation of security and data protection.
  • Ability to lead and mentor development teams
  • Experience in DevSecOps cultural transformation a huge plus
  • Strong experience in application architecture and legacy modernization
