We are seeking a Sr. Network Administrator to support the Enterprise Management System (EMS) solution, working with our Justice Programs team in Washington, DC. In this capacity, the Sr. Network Administrator will support the Network Management Unit (NMU) of the Network Section (NS) in the FBI Information Technology Infrastructure Division (ITID). In this role, you will provide technical support, Operations and Maintenance, Administration, and implementation skills for the EMS tools and other related tools.
In this position, you will:
Recommend, lead, and implement projects to improve performance of the tools, integrate with other monitoring and management tools, migrate tool servers to new Data Center, improve processes and procedures, and perform application /software upgrades as needed.
Leverage engineering skills to support EMS tool software upgrades, configuration, enhancements, customizations, integrations, and automation (e.g., tools, programs, or scripts) and standards as part of the engineering initiatives for the EMS tools.
Create specialized reports as needed and requested.
Prepare or modify processes and Standard Operating Procedures for the administration, maintenance, and operations of the EMS Tools solution as required.
Provide advanced troubleshooting and resolution skills to remediate EMS tools incidents & problems, coordinating with other resolution teams as needed.
Provide administration and maintenance of EMS Tools and related components as listed below, to manage and maintain availability, health, and performance at acceptable Service Levels.
Perform routine maintenance including patch management of EMS application servers, coordinating with other teams both within (i.e., IT Service Management team) and external to the NMU as required.
Create and update documentation such as but not limited to pre-install docs, “As Built Documents”, Interface control documents, operations and maintenance documents, privileged user guides, Standard Operating Procedures, test plans and reports, and requirements specifications as needed.
Training: Contractor personnel shall maintain up-to-date knowledge for both tools and operating systems as new versions are approved for use in the FBI’s environment.
Knowledge Exchange - Share knowledge with other team members, train IT staff and end users in the use of the tools including new functionality via upgrades and enhancements as needed.
Requires experience with Network management, administration & maintenance functions, tasks, and procedures
A deep familiarity with Enterprise Management System (EMS) solutions
Experience with Network Operations Management (NOM) tools including but not limited to:
Network Automation (NA)
Identity Services Engine (ISE)
Riverbed (experience is a plus)
Ansible (experience is a plus)
Experience with other NOM tools is a plus
Experience deploying EMS tools is a plus
Knowledge of the fundamentals of ITSM framework and certification in IT Infrastructure Library (ITIL®) v4 Foundations preferred
RHEL Linux OS v7.4 and later experience
Experience with virtual environments
