GDIT is seeking an Active Directory Engineer to support the planning, building, and operations of a large, globally accessed, cloud-focused, secure defense computing system. This includes implementing IT Service Management, standing up and operating a service desk, and providing end user support.
The Active Directory Engineer provides support, implementation, and design services for Microsoft Active Directory and Windows-based systems across the enterprise, including directory and identity management solutions. We are looking for an individual who has a proven track record designing and deploying Active Directory in a large enterprise. Additionally, the position will require an individual experienced in system design and integration, identity life-cycle management, and process automation and improvement. The ideal candidate will be a motivated self-starter with excellent written and verbal communication skills, who exceeds as an individual, as well as, excels among peers in a team environment.
Minimum Education Required:
Allowable Substitution: Six (6) years of related experience or four (4) years of related experience with an AA/AS degree
Minimum Experience Required:
8+ years designing, planning, implementing, and maintaining an enterprise Active Directory environment
Experience working with Active Directory in a DMZ environment, (IPSEC, PKI, Windows OS Firewall, etc.)
Extensive experience with infrastructure and server theories, principles and concepts; application infrastructure and standards; networking fundamentals; Windows; Physical Server architecture; Virtualization Technologies (e.g. VMware, Hyper-V) and LAN/WAN/Firewall/VPN network technologies
Experience working in large scale enterprise environments with an understanding of ITIL process and functions
Knowledge of PowerShell and AD utilities involving LDAP
Expert knowledge of DNS, DHCP, WINS, DFS
Working knowledge of Windows Server 2008, Server 2012, & Server 2016. PowerShell scripting
Hands on experience hands-on experience working with multiple domains and forests, cross-domain and cross forest authentication
Knowledge of Azure AD with SAML integration of applications with Azure AD
Deep and thorough understanding of monitoring best practices, preferably with Microsoft System Center Operation Manager (SCOM) understanding and experience
Experience with server patching and ability to troubleshoot issues related to patching
Ability to work with little supervision in high stress / high visibility environments with time sensitive requirements. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Ability to take direction and retain information
Applies advanced methods, theories and research techniques in the investigation and solution of the complex system requirements and problems. Develops training tools and documentation; oversees implementation of same
Provides technical consultation on current and proposed systems to other organizations and clients
Assist in the planning and performing of analytical research, design development, and other assignments in conformance with design, engineering and customer specifications
Applies new solutions through research and collaboration with team and determines course of action for new application initiatives
DoD 8570 Baseline Certification Requirement: IAT Level II (Security+CE or equivalent)
Desired Certification(s): MCSA: Windows Server 2016, MCSA: Windows Server 2012 or MCSE: Core Infrastructure
Clearance Level Must Currently Possess: Top Secret/SCI
Clearance Level Must Be Able To Maintain: Top Secret SCI + CI Polygraph
