The Sr. Systems Administrator designs new system architecture, monitor and maintain computer networks, troubleshoot and resolve system errors and inefficiencies, and ensure that computer systems are operating smoothly and effectively.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Manages the functionality and efficiency of a group of computers running on one or more operating systems.
Maintains the integrity and security of servers and systems.
Maintains system documentation.
Interacts with users and evaluates vendor products.
Makes recommendations to purchase hardware and software, coordinates requisition and installation in accordance with local policies and procedures.
Develops and implements backup recovery.
Develops and implements application testing strategies and document results.
Provides guidance and work leadership to less-experienced staff members.
Maintains current knowledge of relevant technologies as assigned.
Maintains and provides the guidance and troubleshooting for the virtual and physical infrastructure architecture enclaves within the network boundary.
Supports and leads the STIG and RMF updates for all systems within the network enclave boundary.
Participates in special projects as required.
Comprehensive knowledge of Microsoft Server 2012/2016 or newer
Comprehensive knowledge of virtual environments (VMware, Hyper-V, etc.)
Familiar with maintaining and operating Microsoft Exchange
Familiar with maintaining and operating HBSS
Familiar with maintaining and operating SQL server
Familiar with configuring and deploying ACAS scans
Experienced in applying patches/updates and STIGs
Experienced in web design and/or maintaining and operating Microsoft SharePoint
Candidate must have a certification meeting DoD approved 8570 IAT level II baseline (CCNA, Sec+, CySA+, etc.)
BA/BS in a Computer Science or related technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, technical certifications, training, or work experience (min 5 yrs).
Must possess an active SECRECT clearance
